Summer Park Days

Children LOVE  the park, whether it is simply our local Pagenstecher Park or a special treat at Gavin Park they always have such a FUN time!!

 

 

 

Blueberry Picking and Pottery in Saratoga!!

We enjoyed many summer field trips this year which included strawberry picking, blueberry picking, park days, and special day to paint pottery and visit Saratoga!!  Please take a peek into our fun!!

 

 

 

The Children loved painting pottery at Creative Sparks!  We then enjoyed a picnic lunch in Congress Park and even rode the carousel and "tasted" some authentic mineral water!!  Oh, who could forget the duck attack while having our lunch!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Middle Summer Butterfly Fun

Well, as our summer progressed and we released our Painted Lady Butterflys our dear friend Maria, Paulys mom brought us some monarch caterpillars to adopt in our front milkweed garden.  We watched and counted them, enjoyed being able to watch one build a crysallis and watch them reproduce in the garden!

BUTTERFLIES- By far my most favorite thing to do with the children every season is to hatch our caterpillars in our habitat, observe the changes and then let them go free!!  We even made our own butterfly cupcakes, and a special butterfly craft!!

Our special butterfly craft was so much fun, Miss Jamie got to paint each childs feet, a great sensory experience!!...... Our finished product was just amazing!!

Early Summer Fun!!1

The Summer began by the Blossom House crew heading to Sunny Side Gardens to purchase our own plants for the garden.  We had a great time and even saw a train!!

The children all worked together to plant our garden, and even had great fun with a leopard frog we found in our garden!!
